AIM: The main aim of this project is to Designing of Digital Frequency Meter using Microcontroller PURPOSE: The purpose of the project is to implement Digital frequency meter. METHODOLOGY: BLOCK DIAGRAM POWER SUPPLY: DESCRIPTION: Now a day's every system is automated in order to face new challenges. In the present days Automated systems have less manual operations, flexibility, reliability and accurate. Due to this demand every field prefers automated control systems. Especially in the field of electronics and electrical, automated systems with great accuracy are in demand with good performance. Here is an automated system which enables the user to monitor the frequency of the mains power supply being fed to different devices for operation. The main goal of our project “Frequency meter” is to Design an automated system which monitors and displays the power supply line frequency and also we can measure the frequency which is coming from any source. This project is designed around a microcontroller which calculates the frequency with the help of Zero crossing detector. Zero-crossing detector is a circuit which gives the small output pulse when the mains supply crosses its zero level. Suppose consider 230 V ac line and which crosses zero voltage for two times in a cycle. By considering this output from zero crossing detectors we are going to display the frequency of line. According to this project, we can calculate the frequency from 230 V AC line or frequency from 555 timer. The frequency is calculated from the same and is displayed in LCD. Hardware components: • Microcontroller • Power supply • 555 timer • LCD • Zero crossing detector Software tools: • Keil • Embedded C • Express PCB Applications: • Used in Industrial applications • Used in Defense applications Advantages: • We can measure frequency from any source • Easy of design Disadvantages: • Operation range is limited (0Hz-10 Khz) RESULT: According to this project we can implement digital frequency meter.
