AIM: The main aim of the project is to implement a system for auto mains frequency monitoring and equipment protection. Purpose : The main purpose of the project is to design a system for auto mains frequency monitor and equipment protection. Whenever there is any change in frequency, the device or system is made shutdown in order to protect the device. Block diagram: Descriptin: Now a day's every system is automated in order to face new challenges. In the present days Automated systems have less manual operations, flexibility, reliability and accurate. Due to this demand every field prefers automated control systems. Especially in the field of electronics and electrical, automated systems with great accuracy are in demand with good performance. Here is an automated system which enables the user to monitor the frequency of the mains power supply being fed to different devices for operation. The main goal of our project “Auto Mains Frequency Monitor and Equipment Controlling System” is to design an automated system which monitors and displays the power supply line frequency. Apart from this, whenever there is any change in frequency, the device or system is made shutdown in order to protect the device. According to this project an electronic Automation system can be made which calculates the frequency of the signal being fed and monitors the same. There may be chance of damage of devices when there is any change in frequency. This can be avoided with the help of this project. This project is designed around a microcontroller which calculates the frequency with the help of Zero crossing detector, displays, and monitors and shuts down the device whenever there is any change in input frequency. According to this project, the input frequency is fed to zero crossing detector of our system from the function generator. The frequency is calculated from the same and is displayed in LCD. Whenever the frequency is varying from a threshold value the device is made shutdown. The hardware involved in the project is Power supply, Microcontroller, Zero crossing detector, LCD and a device under test. Hardware components: • Microcontroller • Power supply • LCD • Zero Crossing Detector • Device Software Tools: • Keil u-Vision • Embedded ‘C’ • Express PCB APPLICATIONS: • Used in Industrial applications • Used in Defense applications. RESULT: According to this project, we can implement main frequency monitoring and controlling.
