TOUCH SCREEN BASED ROBOT CONTROL WITH SPEECH ALERT

INTRODUCTION

In today’s advanced Technological development   remote control   are vital in automation of consumer and Industrial products and as well as in SPACE/Defense applications. XBEE play vital role here. An automated wireless remote control incorporated in Microcomputer form the core building blocks of wireless security system replacing conventional wire technology.

DESCRIPTION

          This project “TOUCH SCREEN BASED ROBOT USING SPEECH” contains microcontroller P89V51RD2, touch screen, Graphical LCD, XBEE transmitter and receiver, voice unit, DC motor driver, DC motors and wheels. This project is applicable for medical field. Here the transmitter unit is placed near patient. The patient is used to move the robot and also send information to the doctor by using touch screen keypad. In some situation the patient is not able to approach doctor. In such cases patient send the robot near doctor using touch screen keypad using left, right, forward and backward buttons. In keypad for each number one predefined voice message is assigned. If the patient presses any number that predefined voice message reaches the doctor. According to the received message doctor will take further action. The receiver part is placed in the robot section. Here xbee through we are communicating.  One xbee is placed at the transmitter end and another xbee is connected at the receiver side.

         8051 architecture based P89V51RD2 microcontroller from NxP is used to implement this project. Microcontroller acts as the heart of this project, which controls the whole system. It contains 1k RAM, 64k Flash, 3 Timers, 2 external interrupts, 1 UART, 32 GPIO’s, ISP programming support etc. KEIL IDE is used to program the microcontroller and the coding will be done using Embedded C.
