Recently, attentions are focused more on bus interior network application and the wireless bus-carry data transmission technology. For developing a remote monitoring system, three aspects of the system are discussed: the vehicle interior network configuration, the CAN/SMS gateway realization and the remote monitoring server design. With the development of automotive electronic technology, more and more electronic control and display unit is fitted to the bus. Together with the sensor and actuator, they form a number of sophisticated electronic control system. In order to transfer large amounts of data and exchange of different signals between electronic controls systems on the bus vehicle. Vehicle interior network came into being. CAN (Controller Area Network, CAN); relying on its stability performance, low price and high reliability and real-time, has now been widely used in automotive internal network. CAN bus is mainly used for internal data communication between various electronic control systems on the bus.

 

                                                               Bus vehicle interior network structure can use topology bus network, all the electrical systems nodes inside the bus vehicle are attached to the CAN bus through their own respective CAN communication module. CAN /SMS Wireless Gateway not only be used to organize and coordinate all the interior electrical systems nodes, but also can be used as internal and external communications data interface. It gathered up the information from all the interior electrical systems nodes sent to the remote Internet monitoring service center computer via SMS wireless module. paper focuses on bus data acquisition and remote monitoring system based on CAN bus and SMS, which can be used to improve the efficiency of monitoring, to maintain the system security, to lower the maintenance costs as well as the operating expensed. With the development of the mobile technology, the design will be made better; the data transmission based on wireless communication will be used more widely. The communication network designed is able to stay stable in a long run in the experiment and meets the expected target.
