Study of Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) using forSlope Stability Monitoring

 

                                                               The traditional monitoring equipment cannot satisfy the request of immediate response for slope instability. This study is aim to provide a simple, effective and immediate alarm system to reduce the damage as much as possible by real time before disasters happens, and take reaction at once. The advanced, high technology of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is firstly introduced for this application in Taiwan. MEMS tilt meter, sensitivity with 0.5 degree in X Y direction is used for monitoring the changes from features of slope stability. IEEE standard of ZigBee is applied for wireless communication network. Most frequently used slope monitoring instruments are majoring included: incline meter, settlement gauge, tilt meter, groundwater table gauge, landslide gauge, rainfall mater and crack gauge, etc. About the data capture, divided into artificial reading and automated reading Therefore, the selection of the sensor in Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS) with Wireless Sensor Network could control the overall data variation on time. WSN is Wireless Sensor Network constructed by the Miniature sensor which has the sensor capability, computing capability and communication capability.

 

 

 

                                                                Since this intelligent WSN system contains sensors, wireless transmission, and low power supply, each single node becomes a data collection and transmission base. This study, a trial program has significant results show that for any movement from the slope surface, the sensor data can pass through coordinate nodes that is to P.C.. And to reach the server station, then the reaction from management office can be taken at once. In the side of management unit, it needs a simple, efficient and timely monitoring system to assist the management unit monitor the slopes which have the potential to occur the disaster. Early warning is to warn before the disasters occur. The warning is to remind the management unit about the changes of slope stability before early warning to assign people checking and preventing. The system is directed help the management unit decimate the tilt situation of structures and processed to the timely monitoring.
