Temperature Monitoring in Wireless SensorNetwork using Zigbee Transceiver Module

 

                                                   Recent advances in embedded systems and mobile technologies are paving the way for the next revolution in computing the future towards which all the current technological developments are leading, the technology trends across the globe are pointing in this direction to make intelligent devices, all pervasive and effectively invisible to the user. As the field of communication networks continuous to evolve a very interesting and challenging area of wireless sensor networks is rapidly coming of age.                        

 

                                                             The emergence of WSN based on ZIGBEE receiver (EM250 Single-Chip ZigBee which is of 2.4GHz, IEEE 802.15.4-compliant transceiver).) has enabled new classes of applications that benefit a large number of fields including health, agriculture, industrial and geology, military, home and emergency management. The development of Sensor networks requires technologies from different research areas: Sensing, Communication and Computing (including Hardware, Software and Algorithms). These inexpensive, Low power communication devices can be deployed throughout a physical space, providing dense sensing close to physical phenomena, processing and communicating this information and coordinating actions with other nodes.

 

 

                                                               In this paper, we are using the features and technology of wireless sensor networks. The temperature is sensed by LM35 and converted to the digital form by means of Analog to Digital converter (ADC internally or externally) of the embedded controller. NODE1 microcontroller transmits the data serially through the ZIGBEE module which is one of the two nodes, in the same manner second also transmits in the same way. On receiving end the temperature data is received through another ZIGBEE module which is consider to be the coordinator of the two nodes and is transmitted serially through COM1 port to the personal computer.
