A NOVEL LOAD BALANCING STRATEGIES MFS WITH FLOW SLICE

 

Load balancing is defined as the allocation of the work of a single application to processors at runtime so that the execution time of the application is minimized. The optimal load balancing policy is developed and extended to develop a distributed load-balancing policy that can dynamically reallocate incoming external loads at each node. The performance of the MPS based load-balancing policy is by considering the average completion time per task and the system processing rate in the presence of random arrivals of the external loads. We propose an algorithm for load balancing in such heterogeneous, dynamic P2P systems. A novel scheme, namely, Flow Slice (FS) that cuts off each flow into flow slices at every intraflow interval larger than a slicing threshold and balances the load on a greater granularity. A slicing threshold of 1 _4 ms, the FS scheme achieves comparative load-balancing performance to the optimal one. The two proposed approaches in considerably improving load balancing and extending network lifetime
